As a courier on the Menulog Network, you have the flexibility to deliver on your own terms. Here are some delivery basics and on-run terminology to set you up or success:
Delivery Zone
Delivery zones are areas where couriers receive and complete deliveries while on run.
Delivery zones don’t always follow conventional suburbs or neighborhood boundaries, so check your map in the Courier App to familiarize yourself with your zone.
All Delivery Runs are designated to specific delivery zones. The delivery zones are displayed on each run. The dashboard map in the Menulog Courier App also displays the outline and names of the delivery zones.
Some locations have adjacent delivery zones. Ensure you’re within your scheduled delivery zone while on run to receive offers. Being too far outside of your scheduled zone, or staying within an adjacent zone, reduces your chances of getting matched with an offer. You’ll receive prompts in the Courier App informing you that you are outside of your delivery zone boundary.
Dashboard Map & Hotspots
If you’re on a Delivery Run or when your status is set to available, the dashboard map in the Courier App displays your current location and also the zone boundaries.
Zones appearing in grey have reached the maximum couriers needed. Keep your status set to 'Available' and we’ll notify you if we are seeking more couriers.
The details of upcoming runs, starting in the next 3 hours, appear on the dashboard. When you’re on-run, delivery zone boundaries and hotspots also appear on the dashboard map.
Hotspots are areas within your zone where you’re likely to receive more offers. To view the hotspots in your zone, tap the icon on the bottom right-hand corner of the map.
Starting a run
Best practice is to confirm your scheduled Delivery Runs 48 hours before the run starts. To maximise delivery time, remember to fill up your tank, make sure you have your phone charger or portable battery and your thermal bag.
To start a Delivery Run, open the Courier App and tap on the ‘Start Run’ prompt. Don’t forget to turn on your GPS, and turn off your Wi-Fi. To start receiving offers, ensure your location services feature is enabled on your device. For iOS devices iOS 14 software or later make sure the ‘Precise location’ is enabled and you’re starting your run within your delivery zone.
The Menulog Courier App uses your location to send you new offers, and for restaurants and customers to check your delivery progress. Please make sure you set your location permissions to ‘Always Allow’ for a smooth delivery experience. Menulog will never use or track your location while you’re offline.
If you’d like to start your run early, or don’t have a scheduled run but would like to deliver on the Menulog Network, toggle your status to ‘Available’. If you are set to ‘Available’, your zone will turn green when there is an opportunity to extend your run or create a custom run. Simply tap the zone to create a run.
Getting Directions
Tap the navigation icon in the app to get directions to the Restaurant or Customer’s address. As an independent contractor on the Menulog Network, you can choose your preferred navigation app to get directions and choose your preferred route.
While delivering, keep an eye out for special delivery instructions posted by restaurants and customers for picking up and dropping off the orders.
Acceptance Rate
Your acceptance rate is the percentage of orders you accept and complete out of the last 10 offers you received. The acceptance rate appears in the bottom right-hand corner of the offer screen when you receive a new offer.
For example, if you accept and complete 8 of 10 offers, your acceptance rate is 80%. Accepting 10 consecutive offers can help you achieve a 100% acceptance rate. Your acceptance rate is always calculated based on your last 10 offers and carries forward from one run to the next.
Offers are considered to be accepted if:
- You accept an offer and complete the delivery
- You accept an offer, but the order is undeliverable because of the customer
- You accept an offer, but the customer or restaurant cancels the order
Offers are considered to be declined if:
- You decline an offer
- You let the timer run out when a new offer is presented
- After you accept an offer, you request that Menulog unmatch the order or are unresponsive and appear not to be progressing with the order
